First day at Sac State 13. April 2010
Today was my first day at California State University of Sacramento (CSUS). We started with a orientation and welcome meeting at 9:00am to introduce our advisors and content for our Computer Gaming Short Course.
The most important part is the ICC Intercultural Communications Course. In this course we will get the basics to understand other cultures and their behavior and the way so communicate with them. Ontop of this course we will get special trainings to develop games e.g. for iPods.
After this introduction, we’ve done a campus tour & lunch from 10:30am to 1:30pm. (While our tour i recognized the whole size of the csus campus… wow, it’s really big)
From 1:30pm to 3:30pm we got our OneCard, which is a student pass with a picture on it.
After this official day, we proceeded working on our team presentation with topic “Religion: Islamism & Hinduism”. On wednesday we have to present it ahead our other groups.
From 6:00pm to 20:30pm we got the possibility to attend another ICC class on the final presentation about product introducing in a foreign country (considering cultural aspects), which will be our final presentation on 26th/29th april.
BTW: I have to say, i was really nervous to meet other students from the csus because i felt not save with my english in the moment of going into the classroom. I had belly aches at the beginning but after the half i felt better. Ongoing the presentations we had a little small talk with some people from the other class and i was able to say some sentenses, too.
